Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,

We hope you’ve enjoyed this amazing weather and are looking forward to our first full week of school. Please enjoy checking out your child’s classroom blog. They are updated weekly, and the links are always posted in the Monday message.

School Council Meeting – Wednesday night at 7:00 pm

Parents & guardians, we’d love to have you join us on Wednesday, September 11th in our Learning Commons for the Annual General Meeting. Andrew Sibbald Parent Association (fundraising body) will meet directly after the School Council Meeting. Agendas will be emailed out in advance. Please see here for the June minutes.

Thank you in advance for supporting our school’s first fundraiser of the school year! Funds support school enhancements like new Phys Ed equipment, art materials and technology. Please use the QR code on the paper flyer sent home with your child or posted on our front door of the school.

Volunteering at Andrew Sibbald School for the 2024-2025 School Year

We are grateful to all our volunteers at Andrew Sibbald School. Classroom teachers make decisions around volunteering for classroom opportunities (field trips, in-class support, special projects etc.) On occasion, we seek volunteers to help in a school-wide capacity (Book Fair, library/learning commons).

We’ve outlined a few different scenarios below around the process for volunteer registration; however please reach out to the office if you have questions.

What should I do if I already have a valid Police Clearance Check (ePIC) with vulnerable sector that was previously processed by the school?

  1. Complete your Annual Volunteer Registration Form for 2024-2025 through SchoolEngage.

What should I do if I don’t yet have a Police Clearance Check (ePIC)?

  1. Go online and complete the Annual Volunteer Registration Form through your MyCBE Account.
  2. Email andrewsibbald@cbe.ab.ca to let the office know that your Annual Volunteer Form has been submitted through SchoolEngage. Mrs. Dupuis will then email you back with the required letter so you can complete your ePIC with the Calgary Police Service.
  3. Calgary Police Service is now providing vouchers to cover the cost of ePICs. Your voucher will be uploaded into the CPS ePIC System. Once it’s ready, an email will be sent to you by CPS. If you would like to proceed immediately and not wait for your voucher from CPS, the cost is $21.25.
  4. Once you have received your police clearance from CPS, please email us a copy or drop a copy off at the school.

What if I started the process at the end of last school year?

1.     Complete your Annual Volunteer Registration Form through SchoolEngage.

2. If you received your ePIC over the summer, please email us a copy or drop a copy off at the school as soon as possible. Online access to your clearance letters is 60 days. If not retrieved, you will have to re-apply. All checks must be completed within 180 days of completing your Annual Volunteer Registration form.

I would like to volunteer with Andrew Sibbald’s Parent Association (fun lunches, fundraisers etc.)

More information will be shared in the coming weeks around Parent Association’s process (separate from the school’s) for collecting volunteer information for the current school year.
