Monday Message: December 15th, 2025  

Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,  

As I write my final Monday Message to this amazing school community, I want to extend my sincere gratitude. It’s been so awesome serving the students, staff, and families at Andrew Sibbald School. Thank you for your communication, engagement, partnership, and care. I wish each of you a wonderful Christmas and all the best in 2026!  As soon as I have information around the incoming principal, I will be sure to share. We all know that whomever it is, is lucky to land in such a wonderful school community.  

Winter Concerts: Community in Motion Hip Hop Dance Residency  

We are SO looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday and Wednesday evening for the beautiful choir performance & hip hop showcase. The students have worked so hard to take risks during the dance residency and have learned some cool new dance moves; they are excited to share with you! 

A few important notes:  

  • Please arrive with your student between 5:30 and 5:45 
  • Concert begins at 6:00 and will be about an hour in length 
  • Non-choir students will go to their classrooms and parents/guests will go to the gym 
  • Choir students will go to the Learning Commons on both nights 
  • Choir students will be picked up from the Learning Commons on the evening that their classroom is not performing  
  • Doors will be locked throughout the duration of the performance, and all students will be picked up from their classroom or the Learning Commons at the end of the show – we are not able to collect or dismiss students from the Learning Commons or their classrooms before the show ends  
  • Please be patient at the front door as tickets are collected – thank you! 

Hip Hop Attire  

Ms. Kat from SoundKreations and Mrs. Odegard are encouraging all students to wear the following: 

  • Comfy clothes 
  • Andrew Sibbald swag 
  • Bright colours 
  • Runners 
  • Please, no skirts or dresses 
  • It’s a good idea to have hair up, if student has longer hair 

 

Thank you for your support of this year’s Winter Concerts! We are super grateful to our Parent Association for covering the cost of this residency for our students. We are also grateful to Ms. Kat from SoundKreations and Mrs. Odegard for leading this learning. Lastly, thank you, Mrs. Dupuis for all her work around the ticket organization for the school community.  

Reminder – Rec House – Learning Commons  

Just a reminder that due to the Winter Concerts this week, Rec House will be in the learning commons beginning Monday afternoon - Thursday. 

 

Traffic/Crosswalk Safety  

Parents, thank you for choosing safety over convenience by using our school’s crosswalk. Icy roads make it challenging for drivers to stop when parents and children dart across the street between parked cars.
