Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
Happy Easter! Here’s hoping you are enjoying your time over the long weekend with family and friends.
Thank you to the parents who joined us for the Tues/Thurs Kindergarten and Grade 2 Celebration of Learning last week. The Kindergarten students’ poems, song and artwork were enjoyed by all! The Gr. 2 students did an excellent job sharing their learning around the Spring Equinox, the Science behind their glass residency learning, and the Great Garbage Patch. Thank you to the teachers and students who continue to remind us, “Little hands can do big (and important) work!”
Spring is a beautiful time of year and offers students excellent learning opportunities on the land. We are extremely lucky to be able to offer our students this learning at Fish Creek Park. Please check out some of this learning here and here.
Thank you to the parents who joined the Grade 3 teachers and students last week to volunteer to go to Drumheller, as well as those who supported the Grade 4 Science Workshops through Teacher’s Pet. We appreciate you!
Lastly, thank you to the Grade 5 parents and guardians who joined us for the Outdoor School Meeting. Please return all forms this week so that we can continue to plan and organize for this student experience. Don't hesitate to reach out to me or Mr. Newman or your child's teacher with any questions. Thank you!
SDP Spotlight
This year part of our school development plan has focused on developing students’ writing skills and development. Our Grade 1 students have been busy preparing for their upcoming off-site learning experience through Open Minds. Check out some of their pre-work here: https://aligardner2425.blogspot.com/ and here: https://kosiorgradeone2425.blogspot.com.
Fun Lunch Reminder
The deadline to order for the May 1st fun lunch (Lunch Lady) is Sat April 26th.
April 23 Spirit Day - Pop Star Day
On April 23rd, our Student Voice group invites students to participate in our Pop Star Spirit Day. This is a fun opportunity for students to dress as their favorite music artist or pop star, wear a shirt featuring a music group or pop star, or just dress like a pop star might. As always, it is completely optional for students to participate in this spirit day. We ask that all clothing worn is appropriate for school and learning.
