Monday Message – February 19th, 2024
Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
Happy Family Day to you and our Sibbald families! Hope you had a chance to enjoy some time outside and with your loved ones.
Thank you for your feedback!
Thanks to the parents and guardians who shared their voices around our School Development Plan goals and school fees. Please complete this survey before February 25th to have your voice heard as we consider our school planning for next year.
Student Voice Update
Our Gr. 5/6 student voice group has been hard at work planning and organizing some Spirit Days as well as some special events around Pink Shirt Day. This Friday, students are hosting a “Summer in Winter - Tropical Island Day” on Friday, February 23rd. Please see their message around this event: Let's ignore the wintery weather and visualize summer on a tropical island for a day. Wear your fun, tropical clothes, hats, sunglasses, and accessories on Friday to celebrate this fun day. Don't forget to pack your warm things to wear over your tropical wear for when we go outside. Clothing needs to be appropriate for learning at school please.
Pink Shirt Day – February 28th
Andrew Sibbald has many special things happening on Pink Shirt Day this year! As you know, our Gr. 1-3 students have been learning about some of the Health and Wellness outcomes and emotional literacy through their puppet residency. On February 28th, throughout the day, our Gr. 1-3 teachers have scheduled short celebrations of learning to share with their buddies and their parents. Please stay tuned for more information from your child’s teacher.
Our Gr. 5/6 student voice group has decided that they would like to organize a bake sale to support the Canadian Mental Health Association. Thank you to our student voice group in advance for their contributions to the bake sale. Parents – a hard copy information slip went home last week around the request for donations – thank you! The sale will take place on February 28th and all classrooms will have a scheduled time to purchase something from our student voice members. All baked goods will be $1.00 or $2.00. All baked goods will be nut free and there will be some gluten free options available. Thank you for your support with this!
Fees Uploaded to MyCBE Powerschool Accounts
Parents and guardians, this is a general reminder that fees for various field trips and in-school experiences are uploaded to your MyCBE Powerschool Accounts. School fees are collected from parents to provide learning enchantments. Please reach out to our main office if you have any questions. Thank you!
