Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,

We hope you have managed to stay warm over the weekend! We all look forward to warmer weather ahead this week. Parents, thank you for your communication and assistance around the transportation challenges last Friday. Ensuring student safety in these frigid temperatures is paramount and we are grateful for your support and responsiveness. Despite the cold weather last week, students were sure warm and active inside the gym during our Alien Inline Skating residency. Check out some of these inline skating snapshots in KindergartenGrade 4 and Grade 6!

Kindergarten registration opens January 15th

Welcoming new families to our school along with younger siblings of current students is always exciting! Parents and guardians can begin to register students after 8:00 a.m. on January 15th.  Please see here to get started. Our school will continue to offer alternating full-day kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year as this ensures students travelling by bus have transportation to and from school. Children must be at least five years old as of Dec. 31, 2024, to start kindergarten in fall 2024.

Professional Learning Day – No school for students Monday

Parents – just a reminder that Monday is a non-instructional day for students. Our staff looks forward to engaging in professional learning around new curriculum, collaborating around reporting expectations and completing First Aid requirements.

School Council Meeting – This Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Please join us in our school’s learning commons this Wednesday evening for our School Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. As previously communicated, all parents and guardians are members of School Council. Andrew Sibbald Parent Association will meet directly after Council. An agenda will be emailed out later this week. We look forward to seeing you then.

Ski at School for Grades 4, 5 and 6

On January 29th, 30th and 31st our Grades 4, 5 and 6 students will have an opportunity to participate in a Ski at School program where they will learn to cross-country ski on a track that is created on our school grounds. Permission forms for this program went home last week. Thank you for supporting this learning opportunity for our students!
