Thank you to the families who joined us for our Kindergarten Orientation last Thursday evening. It was great to connect with you and welcome your children to our school.  


Rock Your Locks Update!  

We are so pleased to have over 170 students participating in our 20th annual Kids Cancer Care event, with over 40 of these participants shaving or cutting their hair in solidarity with kids fighting cancer.  We are incredibly proud of all the students who are taking action to help make a difference for others.  Participants should have received an email with additional details about the next steps.  If you did not get an email, please reach out to the school at andrewsibbald@cbe.ab.ca.   With this being our 20th year, we have set our fundraising target at $20 000 and we're already close to reaching it!  If you would like to check out our progress or contribute to this event, you can do so at this link.   Invitations (for parents to attend the event who have a child shaving or cutting their hair) will go home early this week. Once again, thank you for your incredible support!   


ELEV8 Lacrosse Residency June 3rd – 6th  

Our students in kindergarten to Grade 6 will work with Elev8 Lacrosse Monday through to Thursday this week. Classes will have sessions led by a NCAA Lacrosse Athlete. Through this residency, students will learn about lacrosse, engage in skill development, and delve briefly into its Indigenous history. We look forward to watching our students take on what is for many of them a new sport.   


AMA Patrol Picnic – June 5th  

Thank you to all our AMA School Safety Patrols and supervisors who have done an awesome job helping our students arrive at school safely this year.  Thank you to our generous Andrew Sibbald Parent Association for paying for the ride bracelets and bussing to Heritage Park and thank you to the parent volunteers who will join the fun at Heritage Park for the patrol picnic this year.  


Lights, Camera, Talent!  

Important communication from Ms. Harris was sent out to families about our classroom talent shows which will be held between June 10th – 14th and the school-wide talent show featuring two students from each class on June 24th. We look forward to celebrating Sibbald’s talent in the coming weeks!  

Next Year Calendar/Information  

Our 2024-2025 Traditional Calendar will be published in mid-June and updated on our website. Please know that there are no changes to our bell times next year.   

Registration for Transportation in 2024-25 School Year Now Open  

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as in the current school year. Register using MyCBE by June 16 to be included in route planning over the summer.
