Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
We hope this message finds you well as we look forward to spring on the horizon!
Parent Teacher Conferences – March 21 and 22
Parents, teachers look forward to meeting with you during on March 21 between 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and the morning of March 22 between 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Kindergarten conferences will take place from 8:00 a.m. on March 21 through to 7:00 p.m.
We would like to invite you to come 15 minutes before or stay for 15 minutes after your scheduled sit-down conference with your child’s teacher to view some of your child’s learning samples and learning tasks. This optional portion of the conference is an opportunity for your child to celebrate work samples with you. We hope you enjoy celebrating your child’s individual growth and progress and hearing about their next steps in learning over the final months of the school year. Thank you for your partnership.
Please book your conference using your MyCBE Powerschool account. Conference booking begins on Wednesday, March 13 and closes March 20.
Parent Association lending library is up and running!
All parents and guardians are welcome to view and then borrow the picture books purchased through a School Council grant. These books are stored in a basket at the office and all parents are encouraged to read and enjoy these books at home with their children. The books are beautifully written and illustrated texts that support emotional literacy learning. Some of the titles include, “The Color Monster: a Story about Emotions”, “In My Heart: a Book of Feelings” and “My Many Colored Days.” Thank you to our Parent Association for purchasing these books and supporting our well-being and learning at Andrew Sibbald School!
Tale Bots and LEGO Mindstorms
We are grateful for the continued support from our Parent Association around funding our technology purchases including our new robots called, Tale Bots. Students in Kindergarten have enjoyed making use of these over the past week with Ms. Hatchette and they will make their way into Grade 1 this week. Our Grade 4 students have also been enjoying their learning through robotics in Mrs. Patry & Mrs. Pols classes. Check out this learning in action in Grade 4 here.
