Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
Wishing all of our Sibbald moms, grandmas, aunties and other special women who are a part of our school community a very happy Mother’s Day. Here’s hoping you enjoyed your day!
Thanks to Parent Association and all the volunteers who organized our plant fundraiser. We look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday evening for our School Council Meeting at 7:00 pm inside our learning commons.
Offsite Learning Highlights
Congrats to Mrs. Kosior, her students and all of the parent volunteers who engaged in City Hall School last week. Please check out some of this learning here. Ms. Gardner’s Gr.1 class will have an opportunity to engage in this learning over the coming week and we are grateful to those who will be volunteering. Thanks to those who supported the Gr. 2 student’s culmination of learning around their Canadian animal inquiry at the Zoo last week. Thank you also, to our Kindergarten families for supporting off-site learning at the Calgary Zoo this upcoming week. Please be prepared for wet weather for the next few days!
We were happy to welcome back our Gr. 5 students, their teachers and Mr. Newman on Friday afternoon. Thank you to the parents who recognized the teachers for taking time away from their own families in order to be with their students for this overnight trip. We look forward to hearing more about the student’s camp adventures this week. Please be sure to check out Mrs. Sampson’s and Ms. Chen’s classroom blogs to see some of the learning intentions and experiences from Camp Chief Hector.
Gymnastics Wraps Up this Week
Students have been engaged in gymnastics throughout the past few weeks here at Andrew Sibbald. We’ll be packing up this equipment this week. Students have demonstrated improvement in strength, goal-setting and focus throughout the learning. Check out an example of this student learning here.
Volunteer Tea
Parents, please rsvp to andrewsibbald@cbe.ab.ca to let us know that you can join us on Friday, May 23rd for our Volunteer Tea. We look forward to celebrating you and will be providing student entertainment and small tokens of appreciation for all guests. Thank you!
