Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,

Happy Victoria Day long weekend!

We hope that all volunteers who came to help this year received an invitation to our upcoming Volunteer Tea. Please do reach out to our office, if you did not receive an email invitation! We have had over 140 different volunteers support student learning and wellbeing this year at Andrew Sibbald School and we look forward to celebrating you and the difference you make!

“Rock Your Locks” Kids Cancer Care Fundraiser Update

We kicked off our 20th Annual Kids Cancer Care event on Tuesday in our classrooms. Students were excited to learn more about the event and how they could make a difference in the life of a child fighting cancer.  Many teachers linked this work to our anchor text The Power of One as well as the outcomes found in our Physical Education and Wellness curriculum.  Students brainstormed ways in which they might raise funds for this event.  As a follow up to these conversations, please know that the school cannot accept cash donations. If your child raises money for Kids Cancer Care through an activity or event they organize, these funds need to be donated online at the Kids Cancer Care page found here.

Each student that participates on the online Kids Cancer page by raising funds will receive a certificate and “swag bag” from Kids Cancer Care.  Students that choose to color their hair as a part of the “Rock Your Locks” fundraiser will be acknowledged at our event on Friday, June 7th and will receive their “swag” when they return to their classroom.  Students cutting or shaving their hair will receive their “swag” during the event.  Additionally, those students cutting or shaving their hair will bring home invitations to parents to join us at the event.  Unfortunately, due to the event's size, we cannot accommodate additional spectators beyond this.  Thank you for your understanding and for your amazing commitment and support of this fundraising event.
