Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
I hope you and your families have been keeping well! I’m looking forward to seeing you and your amazing kids this week. I have appreciated the leadership of Mr. Hutton and Mr. Newman in my absence and have been in constant communication with both as we continue planning for the next school year and solidify the last few months of this school year.
Thank you for all your support in the many events at Andrew Sibbald throughout April. The student off-site experiences were plentiful, and Mr. Hutton shared much about how well the students did swimming last week. Mr. Newman has also communicated how well some of the other learning experiences have gone, including The Royal Tyrrell Museum visit. We couldn’t have offered these experiences without your support – thank you! We are also so proud of the Grade 4, 5 and 6 students and teachers who participated in the CBE’s Minecraft Challenge. Congrats and good luck to the Sibbald students whose entries were submitted!
Lastly, thank you to those of you who reached out to me around my absence. Your kindness and care are appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jill Scarrow
School Council Meeting – Wednesday @ 7:00 p.m.
Please join us this Wednesday for our School Council Meeting in our school’s learning commons. Our Gr. 3 teachers will share the teacher report this month. Andrew Sibbald Parents Association will meet directly after the meeting.
Plant Fundraiser Pickup This Thursday 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Thank you to our awesome Parent Association members for organizing this fundraiser and to all those who participated! Please pick up your orders this Thursday between 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will be at the East doors (parking lot). As a note of interest – this fundraiser helped purchase new Omnikin balls for Phys Ed. These were a special request from our student population after Gr. 3 students gathered student voice around new Phys Ed equipment for our school.
“Rock Your Locks”/Big Brave Event – Date Change – Friday, June 7th
Many of you are familiar with the amazing community event that Andrew Sibbald School has participated in over the years. This will be the 20th year that Sibbald staff, students, and families will participate in fundraising for Kids Cancer Care. Over the years this event has included those who “shaved their lids,” participated in the “Big Brave” and this year will include the opportunity to “Rock Your Locks!” Since Dr. E. P. Scarlett’s high school graduation will be held on Friday, May 31st we need to move the “Rock Your Locks” event to Friday, June 7th so that impacted staff, students, and families can be in attendance. More information will be shared in the coming weeks. Thank you!
