Offsite Learning Opportunities

Thank you to the parents who volunteered with Mrs. Sampson’s class to attend City Hall School. If you are interested in learning more about this learning experience for students, please see here. We look forward to hearing about the learning that Ms. Chen’s class engages in while they complete this off-site experience in December.

Our Grade 3 teachers and students look forward to heading to the Calgary Zoo this week to engage in a field study around the living systems of plants and animals. Thanks again to the parents who help make these trips possible by volunteering.

Mathematics is Everywhere!

A significant part of our School Development Plan this year is around mathematical thinking and reasoning within problem solving. Students have been engaged in opportunities to learn skills and procedures and are provided with opportunities to apply and develop these skills daily. We hope you are enjoying the snapshots of learning on the blogs.

Conferences This Thursday and Friday

Thank you to the parents who have booked a conference to meet with your child’s teacher this Thursday or Friday. Teachers look forward to connecting with you and sharing progress around your child’s learning and next steps. If you haven’t yet booked or are having trouble doing so, please give our office a call and we can help you.

Scholastic Book Fair

Mrs. Norman will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair this week. Classrooms have scheduled a time to preview the book fair as well as a scheduled time to make purchases. The book fair will also be open during Conferences on Thursday evening and on Friday until noon. Thank you to the parents who have signed up to volunteer at the book fair. The book fair brings in funds that Mrs. Norman can use to purchase books for our learning commons and highlights a love and passion for reading and for books! We look forward to hearing student recommendations throughout the week over the announcements.
