Parents, thank you for joining us for Conferences. Please know that ongoing communication is always encouraged and welcomed but that we also appreciate the opportunity to connect with you during this structured time.
Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with our Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday and Friday and lastly, parents, thank you so much for the donation of lunch and treats for staff on Friday afternoon. It was very much appreciated by all.
Free Digital Decodable Books for Families
As we continue to move forward with our reading practices to align to the New Curriculum and CBE’s Scope and Sequence, we would like to highlight the new CBE Decodable Digital Library.
This digital library will continue to be updated over the coming weeks. The purpose of decodable books is to help students who are beginning readers with word processing and sounding out (phonological and phonemic knowledge).
Please join us for Sibbald’s Winter Celebration, “Light Up the Season!”
Ms. Harris looks forward to showcasing our school’s Choir and K-6 learning in Music during this year’s two Winter Concerts on Tuesday, December 19th and Wednesday, December 20th. An email will be sent out tomorrow morning with key details around the scheduling of the evening and ticket information. Here are a few details in advance:
Afternoon dress rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Evening performances begin at 6:00 p.m.
Choir will perform on both afternoons and nights
Performances are expected to run for about 45 minutes
Each family will receive two tickets for the nights their child/ren perform
More tickets can be requested through our school’s inbox at andrewsibbald@cbe.ab.ca
Thank you in advance for understanding that some families do have children performing on both nights. We realize that it is not ideal; however, given the number of siblings, families and spacing in our gym, it is not possible to accommodate all families.
We thank Ms. Harris, Mrs. Sampson and all our student performers (and other student leaders volunteering to help in the shows) in advance for their contributions.
Wreath Fundraiser Pick Up – Tuesday After School
Parents, please note that you can pick up your winter wreath order this Tuesday between 2:40 – 5:00 p.m. at the East side of the school. Parent volunteers will be there to distribute orders. Others can pick up on your behalf if you are unable to make it during that time. Please email: sibbaldparents@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thank you for supporting this fundraiser for our school’s Parent Association!
