Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
We hope you enjoyed your Halloween and for those who celebrated Diwali, we hope your festivities were beautiful and joyful.
Remembrance Day Assembly – Thursday 10 am
Grade 5 families are invited to join our Remembrance Day assembly on Thursday morning, as Grade 5 students and teachers have organized and led this important event at our school this year. Students K-5 have done a beautiful job creating artwork and our Grades 3-5 choir will lend their beautiful voices that morning. We would also like to thank our Kindergarten students for their beautiful written quotes and crosses that will be on display. Students will receive poppies at school in advance of the assembly and we encourage all students to wear their service uniforms for Cadets, Girl Guides etc.
Gr. 3-5 Choir Parents - Please see important note from Ms. Harris
Students will have choir club on Tuesday AND Wednesday at lunch to prepare for their performance on Thursday.
Parents, please encourage your student to practice and memorize the words to the song. You can find the choir information here: http://asmusicmakers.blogspot.ca
Students are encouraged to wear white/light colour on top and dark bottoms for their Remembrance Day performance on Thursday. If choir students participate in a service (e.g. scouts, cadets, guides, brownies) they are encouraged to wear their service uniform.
Thank you!

Andrew Sibbald Mural Project
Our school will be installing a mural in our gym on the stage panels. This project will draw on the ideas and inspiration from students, staff and parents. We will then work with a graphic designer and company called, Wall Art Inc. to create a mural that will reflect Andrew Sibbald School’s identity. Through a process of feedback and revision, a final design will be selected, and Wall Art Inc will then carry out the installation. As a part of their learning, teachers are using the text, Maybe Something Beautiful, based on a real story of how art transformed a downtown community in San Diego from a grey and drab place to a vibrant and colorful community. We would like to gather your input & ideas! We have a two-question survey at this link. Thank you to the parents that already completed this survey for our mural project at parent conferences.
