Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,
As we continue into October, it has been wonderful to see evidence of student learning throughout the school. We hope you are enjoying the learning snapshots on the Classroom Blogs! We are proud of the students for their engagement and their citizenship at Andrew Sibbald. Last week we started our first student-led lunchtime club, initiated by a group of grade sixes. We were proud of their leadership, ownership, and organization around this. During the previous week, our Grade Five students did an excellent job leading learning inside classrooms around Orange Shirt Day. When students have authentic opportunities to learn with and from each other, their wellbeing increases. This week, some of our Grade Two students will test the design process of bridges they have built by visiting expert professional engineers and our Grade Three students will get to learn from an expert from The Glenbow Museum. We are grateful to the parents & community members willing to share their time and expertise with us!

Online Series for Parents Hosted by AHS
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics like vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health. The intention of the series is to advance student well-being by raising family and caregiver’s understanding of a variety of health-related topics.
