Thank you for Joining Us
Parents & guardians, thank you for joining us for Parent Teacher Conferences. Teachers appreciate your ongoing communication and the ability to connect one-on-one with you around your child’s learning and progress. The first report card will be available at the end of January and will reflect your child’s achievement of the learning outcomes taught and assessed during reporting period one. Please continue to be informed around your child’s learning by checking his or her ‘take home folder’ and the classroom blog. Further, please continue to reach out through email or phone with any questions you may have. Thank you!
Welcome to Miss Hirsche
Parents, we are grateful to be able to add a new teaching position at Andrew Sibbald School. Lyndsay Hirsche has joined our staff in the capacity of literacy support in the mornings as well as supporting students across the school in the afternoons to supplement learning around our new Science Curriculum through the lens of art. Please see her communication below:
I am thrilled to join you as a new supporting teacher at Andrew Sibbald School! As I step into this exciting role, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share my enthusiasm for the journey ahead.
Before coming to Andrew Sibbald, I spent two years teaching in the United Kingdom, where I had the opportunity to explore various cultures and landscapes throughout the Europe. This experience not only enriched my teaching but also deepened my appreciation for diverse perspectives, something I hope to bring into our classroom.
I hold a strong passion for both history and art, which I studied in university. I believe that integrating these subjects can create a dynamic learning environment, allowing students to express themselves while understanding the world around them. I am excited to inspire creativity and critical thinking in our literacy and art lessons.
I look forward to collaborating with students, parents, and fellow educators to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to connect.
Best,
Lyndsay Hirsche
Halloween
Our Mon/Wed Kinder students are invited to wear their costumes to school on Wednesday and all other students are invited to wear theirs on Thursday. It’s always a lot of fun to see students dressed up in their costumes. As previously communicated, it is a regular day of learning, playing outside and doing Phys Ed in the gym. Please leave all special props and scary masks at home for Trick-or-Treating. There will be no sharing of food or treats (thanks for saving this for Trick-or-Treating time too!) Please reach out if you have any questions. Lastly, thanks to our Fun Lunch Coordinators for organizing an optional fun snack for the kids through Healthy Hunger.
