Parents, thank you to those who were able to join us for our School Council Meeting & Parent Association Meetings last week. The AGM was held, and positions were filled; thank you! Please see our website for more information, including dates for our meetings throughout the year. This year, meetings will be held at 6:30 pm in person, on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Maker Space Week One - Large Loose Parts Exploration

Thank you to Mrs. Bauman and Mrs. Odegard for leading many of our division one students through an outdoor exploration of our large loose parts last Friday. The purpose of this learning is to engage in problem solving skills, collaboration, and imaginative play. Maker Space will take on various forms throughout the year and students have the opportunity to engage bi-weekly.

Sibbald Sings! Choir Begins this Week

Thank you to Mrs. Odegard for leading all interested Grades 3-5 students in our school’s choir. Students will join in over the lunch hour on Tuesdays and practice weekly until Winter Break.

Meet the Teacher – Thursday, September 18th

Parents, please stop by your child’s classroom on Thursday between 3:30 – 6:00 pm. Your child will be able to show you some of their initial learning and describe some of the routines they’ve learned in their new classrooms. Teachers have prepared ‘Scope and Sequence’ documents that outline outcomes that will be taught and assessed throughout the first reporting period, which will be available for you.

Crosswalk Safety

AMA Patrol training begins this week for Gr. 5 students. Thank you to Ms. Chen, Ms. Braat and Mrs. Bauman for leading this opportunity for our students. Parents and students, please dismount from your bikes when crossing on the crosswalk. This is not only courteous but ensures the safety of both staff and students. Thank you!

Parent Association Update:

Apple Fundraiser – This Week Only! Place orders by Sunday, Sept 21

Parents, please consider placing an order for Parent Association’s first fundraiser of the school year. Apples will be delivered to the school on October 3rd for pick up. Please see the flyer for more information & QR Code for ordering. Fundraising helps with learning enhancements for students throughout the school year.

Learning Grounds Coordinator – Open Position – Your Help is Needed!

Parents, there is one vacant position on Parent Association - coordinator for maintaining the Learning Grounds. This area of the school grounds includes the trees, shrubs, little bridge, and grassy areas around the perimeter of this area. This is a beloved area of the school for both play and learning.
