Monday Message: Monday, September 22nd, 2025

Thank you for joining us for the drop-in Meet the Teacher evening last week. We hope you enjoyed seeing your child’s initial learning and connecting with your child’s teacher. Your ‘hopes, dreams and goals’ for your child’s learning this year look awesome displayed on the leaves of the Andrew Sibbald Tree in our front foyer. We hope the Scope and Sequence of learning outcomes document provided is helpful in supporting your child’s learning throughout the first reporting period.

Building Student Relationships through MakerSpace

This week, our Kindergarten students and their Gr. 3 buddies shared outdoor learning in MakerSpace. Students in Gr. 4 and 5 also engaged in this learning – check it out here.

Grade 4 Students Lead Honoring of Orange Shirt Day & Truth & Reconciliation

Thank you to our Grade 4 teachers and students for their leadership around the observance of Orange Shirt Day and honoring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Please see the message below from Mrs. Pols & Mrs. Colhoun:

Our Grade 4 students will be leading an assembly to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As part of their learning, students have been exploring how we can learn from the land, the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, and the ongoing impacts of colonization. These conversations are directly connected to our Social Studies curriculum, which helps students understand how Canada’s history continues to shape our present.

During the assembly, students will share a song and a storybook created by Indigenous authors and artists that highlight Indigenous perspectives and values. They will also offer their own insights about why this day is recognized and how we can take steps, both individually and as a community, toward reconciliation.

The assembly will take place on Thursday, September 25 at 1:30 pm in the gymGr. 4 families are warmly invited to join us, and everyone is encouraged to wear an orange shirt to honor the day and show support for reconciliation.

Together, we are working toward ReconciliACTION—taking meaningful action to move reconciliation forward through respect, learning, and reflection.

Fun Lunch Update

The deadline to order the first Fun Lunch from Subway is Friday September 26th.  If you have already ordered, please double check your child’s order by logging in and going into upcoming orders.  There have been some glitches to the Healthy Hunger system this year and items that were not supposed to be on our order forms were added but then removed.  Thanks so much.
