Dear Andrew Sibbald Families,

Thank you for joining “Meet the Teacher” Conferences last week. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teacher to reschedule. Conferences will be held again in November; however, please know that ongoing communication around your child’s learning is important and you can always reach out to your child’s teacher through email or phone. Thank you!

The Power of One - Terry Fox and the Observance of Orange Shirt Day

This year, our school-wide anchor text is, “The Power of One: Every Kindness Counts” and we are grateful to our Gr. 4 and 5 students and teachers for their leadership in honoring the legacy of both Terry Fox and Phyllis Webstad this week.

Our Terry Fox run is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 1:30. If you would like to join your child for the run, we will be on the field at 1:30 p.m. Students will return to class after the Terry Fox Run.

All staff and students are invited to wear orange shirts on Thursday, September 28th. We look forward to seeing the Gr. 4 and 5 celebration of learning around Orange Shirt Day, Treaty 7 Week and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation on October 5th. Please remember, all CBE families are invited to head down to Fort Calgary on September 30th.

Photo Days – Oct. 2 & 3

Classroom and individual student photos will take place on October 2nd and 3rd. We have consulted with the photographer to determine a tentative schedule for the two days:

October 2nd – Mon/Wed Kindergarten, Grades 4, 5, 6

October 3rd – Tues/Thurs Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2, 3

Photo retakes will take place later this winter.

Dogs on the School Grounds – We need your help :)

We have received some complaints from parents about the safety of their children with dogs coming onto our school property and have also noticed an increase in dog feces in the school field. Please know that dogs are not permitted on school grounds in accordance with the City of Calgary Bylaw. Thank you for your understanding and for your help in ensuring that our students and families feel safe on our school grounds.
