Art Felt Residency

All Andrew Sibbald students will be participating in our Art Felt residency over the coming weeks. This is held at school and presented by ArtFelt Studios. During their residency time, classes will participate in a 2.5-hour workshop where they will create a project related to curricular topics. Thank you to our Parent Association for making this residency possible.

Terry Fox Run

Our Terry Fox Run is on Friday, October 9.

Parents and guardians are welcome to come watch or join the outdoor portion of the day. We will gather the students in the gym for 10am to do a short presentation and then be outside by approximately 10:20am.

The Terry Fox Run is an opportunity for our students to come together as a school community while learning about Terry Fox, his incredible determination, and his dream to help others through cancer research.

A reminder that donations will be collected at school and through the online platform. Donations will be collected until the end of the day on October 9.

Thank you for your support and for helping our students make a difference!

Individual Program Plans (IPPs)

This week IPPs will be sent home on Thursday. These are documents for students who carry an Alberta Learning code due to a diagnosis such as ADHD, a learning disability, speech delay etc. It is a document that works collaboratively with the student’s report card and allows teachers to articulate goals which they will work on with the student.

When this is sent home, parents/guardians are asked to review, sign and send the signature page back to your child’s teacher. Formal signatures will be collected once again in February and June.

These documents are continually growing and changing, along with our students throughout the year. Our teachers are striving to create concise and achievable goals for students. As students achieve goals, new ones will be created. If needed, strategies will be modified to better support the student.

Thank you to those parents who connected with their child’s teacher to share their perspective as these plans were initiated. If you have not had a conversation with your child’s teacher, I would encourage you to reach out.

Any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser - Message from Parent Association

We are excited to launch our Cookie Dough fundraiser. Profits from our fundraisers directly support student learning at Andrew Sibbald School and this year we are raising funds to support the purchase of 36 Ozobots to enhance STEAM and computer science learning. Every student will benefit from your support.

Order forms and fundraiser information sheets will be going home with students on Monday, October 5. Orders are due by Friday, October 30 and are to be submitted online. See the information sheet for details.

Please reach out to us at fundraising@sibbaldparents.ca if you have any questions about the fundraiser.

Halloween Dance

Our Parent Association will be hosting a Halloween Dance on Thursday, October 29. Families will have an opportunity to sign up to attend but to begin, the Parent Association is looking for volunteers. Please sign up for a volunteer position at the following link: Halloween Dance Volunteers
