Walking Field Trips

Please review the attached letter regarding walking field trips.

School Council & Parent Association

We encourage parents and guardians to join us for our School Council & Parent Association meetings this Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30pm. Meetings are held monthly and this is a great opportunity to stay up to date with our school community, be involved and meet other families. Looking forward to seeing you there! Throughout the year, agendas and reminders are sent on the morning of our meetings. Following our meetings, minutes are posted on the school website for review.

Safety | Reminders

With the new school year, we would like to pass along some reminders and expectations:

  • For drop off and pick up, we also request that families DO NOT use our staff parking lot. This is an area where many families walk to access our entrances, and it is a safety concern.  If you are doing an early morning, drop off for Rec House (before 7:30am), we ask that your first choice for parking be in front of the school, otherwise please park in the stalls in the middle of the lot. Our staff need to park in their spots for the day.
  • The drop and go area at the front of our school is also our bus drop off/pick up zone. We would ask that parents give priority to the buses between 7:40-8am and 2:20-2:40pm.  There will be multiple buses this year, so we want to prioritize safe parking for these larger vehicles on our residential road.
  • We ask families to please prioritize the safety of our school community at drop-off and pick-up. Please utilize crosswalks, do not double park, park in a safe/designated area and be patient with everyone.
  • Our grade 5 patrollers will begin their leadership role later in September. Until then, staff will be supervising and supporting at our front crosswalk in the morning and afternoon.  Please be safe as they assist our students cross the road.

All the best,
