Dear Andrew Sibbald families,

We are excited to welcome families to our Meet the Teacher event this Thursday, from 4-6:30pm. This will be an opportunity for students to introduce their families to their teachers and tour our school. Families, please note this is not a scheduled parent teacher interview; you can drop by at any time during the event to say hello. If you want to have a more in-dept conversation with your child’s teacher, we encourage you to schedule an opportunity outside of our Meet the Teacher time.

Scooter Rack

  • Our new scooter rack was installed in June. Thank you to our Parent Association for your support with this! It is located on the east side of the school next to our existing bike racks. Students are encouraged to bring a lock to lock up their scooters.

Safety | Reminders

Thank you to our community for prioritizing the b of our school community at drop-off and pick-up.  It is appreciated!

A few reminders as we continue our safety practices:

  • For drop off and pick up, we also request that families DO NOT use our staff parking lot. This is an area where many families walk to access our entrances, and it is a safety concern.  If you are doing an early morning, drop off for Rec House (before 7:30am), we ask that your first choice for parking be in front of the school, otherwise please park in the stalls in the middle of the lot. Our staff need to park in their spots for the day.
  • The drop and go area at the front of our school is also our bus drop off/pick up zone. We would ask that parents give priority to the buses between 7:40-8am and 2:20-2:40pm.  There will be multiple buses this year, so we want to prioritize safe parking for these larger vehicles on our residential road.
  • Please utilize crosswalks, do not double park, park in a safe/designated area and be patient with everyone.
  • Our grade 5 patrollers will begin their leadership role later in September. Until then, staff will be supervising and supporting at our front crosswalk in the morning and afternoon.  Please be safe as they assist our students cross the road.
